*sigh* Remember the good ol' days? The days before Pinterest became every girls obsession and took over their lives? The days of childhood past when it was customary to buy your Halloween costume at Party City; instead of driving yourself crazy over finding and perfecting the most creative D.I.Y. costume that you and your squad can all rock the house in?

I remember the excitement when the middle of October rolled around, the chill in the air became more frequent, and you just knew that one of the most important fashion decisions of the year was right around the corner. And because of that, the most important question must be asked: What are you going to be this year for Halloween? With all of the anticipation and eagerness on the car ride to Party City to finally pick out the costume you've been dreaming about since the previous Halloween, you couldn't help but wonder about all of the possibilities you would get to model for your mom, and all of the cuts that would end up on the cutting room floor.

Now, in the age of craziness and technology, Halloween has become a competition for the best of the best. I can just see the superlatives now. Most Creative. How Punny! Least Basic...the list is infinite. The process of Pinning (it's a Pinterest--social media--term, for those of you who are still living in the Stone Age) all of the most clever and let's face it...sexy candidates, is an operation that needs to start months in advance. Like everything girls do, we tend to be indecisive and need to give ourselves an ample amount of time to weed out the bad ideas and the flat out what was I thinking?'s.

And for those of you in college, where Halloween is now turned into what is called Halloweekend, where Thursday, Friday and Saturday night you need to be decked out in a different costume each night. That means, 3x the Halloween 3x the aggravating stress associated with D.I.Y. costumes. And for those of you who may not know, D.I.Y. stands for Do It Yourself. This means that it is up to you to figure out how to find the necessary materials/accessories and construct either the most basic, or the most elaborate of Halloween attire.

This Halloween I will fall on the basic side of the spectrum because I will be dressing up as Tom Cruise from Risky Business for Halloween. The amount of effort that went into this costume is so minute, it's actually kind of funny. A male's buttoned down dress shirt, black sun glasses and a pair of white socks...I mean come on, how much easier can it get?!

So let me ask all of you readers out there this very important question...What are you going to be this year for Halloween?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
