Hey, you!

Have you been sitting in your room dreaming over the boy you just met last week? Repeatedly going over every single detail and moment you guys have shared together already? Do yourself a favor and be cautious.

Trust me, I know that right now it seems like he's the most amazing guy in the world, but really, you just like the idea of him-- you don't really know him yet. I'm not here to judge you because I've been in your position far too many times.

You're probably just like myself with a list of cute date ideas and no one to go with. Chances are Valentine's Day is one of your favorite holidays and you've watched every Nicholas Sparks movie approximately 270 times while crying every time.

I believe in love at first sight and the idea that there is someone out there meant for me. I believe in having a significant other who is not only my other half, but is also my best friend. It should be about working with them through every obstacle in life and never giving up in the process. I believe in being with someone who challenges you to be a better person and is fully supportive of every decision you happen to make. Your significant other should be your biggest supporter, despite what life throws at you. I believe in growing old with someone and having a happy-ending that lives up to the fairy tales and Nicholas Sparks novels that I watch religiously. I want a love that never ends. The older generations are who I look up to for relationship goals. Ever since I was younger, I've been obsessed with the Eiffel Tower and the idea of getting engaged in front of it someday, no matter how cliché that may sound. I’m not ashamed to say that I am a hopeless romantic and I am in love with the idea of being in love.

Although rare, there are still men who hold open doors to let a lady pass through before them. Shockingly enough, there are men who actually plan out date nights and walk on the street side of the sidewalk. They still exist somewhere out there. I'm a sucker for romantic gestures like handwritten notes and photos captured in the moment. If you take a candid photo of me and share it for your friends to see, I’ll probably think about that for the next few days or even longer. I am a firm believer that it’s the small things that count the most. I enjoy being given a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day along with a giant stuffed teddy bear and notes saying "I love you." Forehead kisses are my favorite and holding hands while walking in public makes me happy.

Girls really aren't that hard to figure out, if you show that you're proud to be with us, then everything will be okay. There is nothing wrong with me wanting someone to surprise me with yellow roses or sunflowers randomly and make pinky promises with me that they fully intend on keeping. Today we live in a hook-up culture, something that I don’t desire to have. If you're like me, I promise you will someday find your prince who will treat you like the princess that you are. Someone who will love you more than you ever thought would be possible.

Here's something that you may not believe: you will meet someone one day who will not take advantage of you, someone who will do things for you just because they love to see you smile or make you laugh. Someday you will meet someone who will do things for you just because they want to and not because they have to.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
