Here's to the University that has changed us all for the better.

I Am From Creighton University

I am from Creighton University,

from Gallagher Fountain to Morrison Stadium.

I am from 8,236 students.

from Old Gym rooftops and underground tunnels

to Starbucks and Sodexo.

I am from all-nighters for Bio tests,

from Saturdays in the library

and traditional Wednesjays.

I am from bricks on the mall,

from Schlegel Center service trips

from Cortina, FLP, Dean's Fellows, Honors,

and Pep Band, CSU, and Greek Life.

I am from where the Bluejays fly

and Omaha, which I now call home.

I am from the land of Coach McDermott,

from a top-ranked soccer team

from a Crew in Blue-striped pants.

I am from Creighton President bobbleheads,

from free food at WAC,

from late night study snacks.

I am from ongoing traditions and strong Jesuit values,

from Theology and Philosophy

and struggling through Core Classes.

I am from flooding Residence Halls,

from 4 a.m. fire alarms.

I am from the KFC and St. John's,

from the mysterious Golden Elevator

and Old Market adventures.

I am from ever-changing weather,

from Career Fairs and Jobs4Jays,

from lifesavers like The Edge and DoIT.

I am from life-long friendships,

from great opportunities

and service to the community.

I am from a close-knit community,

from brilliant professors and challenging courses.

I am from Magis and AMDG,

from Campus Ministry, 10 p.m. mass, and Muslim prayer,

from all walks of life and all over the world.

I am from Creighton University.

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
