FRND Returns with New single "erase"

In This Article:

Los Angeles producer FRND has become synonymous with a signature sound that falls into the realm of electronic-tinged pop. Real name Andrew Goldstein, FRND is an all around musician who fuses his productions with his own vocals. Because of this, he has been awarded critical praise, over 40 million streams, Hype M no.1's, and recruitment to pen tracks for popstars including Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, and blackbear.

Now on the eve of a highly anticipated return with upcoming EP, 'Before U I Didn't Exist' (Crooked Paintings/BMG), coming September 28, we're getting a sneak peak of the project with new single "Erase." Again featuring the ethereal and emotive vocals of Goldstein, FRND's "Erase" invokes nostalgia for the sound of Owl City and pairs it with a sleek production whose sound could be compared to chart-topping artists like Clean Bandit or The Chainsmokers. While it's easy to discern the vocals of "Erase" are raw and not overly-produced, the complexity of "Erase's" sound design is not lost on the listener, rather it's accentuated by the juxtaposition of Goldstein's stripped-back singing.

"'FRND is really this place you don't think you're capable of going until you actually get there," describes Goldstein. "You realize how much of life is driven by emotion versus thinking logistically. Once you navigate through these emotions, you get to the next level. That's what happened for me. "'Erase' is about someone coming into your life and wiping out lingering sadness from the past. When you realize the effect they have on you, you can't help but fall for them."

Stream "Erase" below, out everyone now, and stay tuned for additional details on FRND's 'Before U I Didn't Exist' EP still to come:

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
