Fun facts about me: I love Fall. I love October. I love Halloween. I love Halloween more than Christmas. I am always down to get spooky.
I have wanted to go to Fright Fest for a long time, and finally this year it worked out. I love amusement parks and have been to Six Flags Great America seven times previously, but there was definitely something different about Fright Fest.
The decorations were some of the best I've seen for Halloween
The pool in front of the carousel was made too look like blood with the surrounding area made into a graveyard. Everywhere we turned we found really neat decorations that definitely put us in the mood for spooks.
The cool air made the rides feel even bigger
I do not have a good picture for this one, but it's true! The wind in one's face on the superman is always brisk, but paired with the actual fall air outside it felt like I was flying higher and the drops were longer.
The parade was to die for (pun intended)
I know what you're thinking- parade, shamade. But honestly, they did a good job with this. It was pretty short but very detailed. And at the end my boyfriend got to use the line, "oh hey Satan," so it was a win-win.
After the parade the characters haunted the park
While I wasn't scared, watching them scare other people around the park was hilarious. The characters were really well done, even if they yelled at me or called me annoying when I tried to get them in my pictures.
Nighttime was the perfect mix of spooks and beauty, in my opinion
I love a good fall night. Especially one that's as neat as this.
The only downside was that we didn't get to go to the haunted houses. I've been told the haunted houses are super good, we were just too broke to be willing to pay $35 a person to go through them, on top of the cost of tickets to get in the park.
I was not disappointed, however, and I highly recommend adding Fright Fest to your fall bucket list.
