The greatest thing we have in this world are the relationships we have with people. And as cliché as that may sound, it's the truth. It's the people that make your life beautiful. One thing I have found is that there are no words strong enough to describe the meaning of friendship. But below are some words, written by some incredible writers, that I feel come close.
“There's not a word yet, for old friends who've just met”
― Jim Henson, Favorite Songs from Jim Henson's Muppets
“I wonder what Piglet is doing," thought Pooh.
"I wish I were there to be doing it, too.”
― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”
― Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey
"No, I think you're like James," said Lupin, "who would have regarded it as the height of dishonor to mistrust his friends.”
- J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter
“You had to know a person well to make them laugh like that.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince
“That was the thing about best friends. Like sisters and mothers, they could piss you off and make you cry and break your heart, but in the end, when the chips were down, they were there, making you laugh even in your darkest hours.”
― Kristin Hannah, Firefly Lane
Some people can't be driven away, no matter how hard you try. Some friendships won't break.”
― Robin Wasserman, Greed
“So what if I’m right?” I dig in my purse for a few singles, flopping back to our conversation about Seth as if we’d never changed the subject. This is a thing I’ve found only best friends can do—press pause on a conversation and then press play again at any moment.”
― Paula Stokes, The Key to Everything
“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”
― A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner
“I may not be happy with you right now, but I still love you.”
― Janet Gurtler, How I Lost You
