Why "Friends" Will Always "Be There For You"

Need a good laugh? Watch “Friends.” Need a good cry? Watch “Friends.” Need something to watch before you fall asleep? Watch “Friends.”

“Friends” is a show you can watch over and over again, in or out of order, and never get tired off. There is a character for everyone. Whether you’re a clean freak like Monica Geller and need everything a certain way, as sarcastic as Chandler Bing or awkward as Ross Geller, they’re relatable… or you’ve met someone just like them.

“Friends” has been around for over 22 years… THAT’S NUTS! How can a show from the early 90’s still be so damn good?

Ever listened to the “Friends” theme song? Like REALLY listened? Its so relatable its almost scary.

“So no one told you life was gonna be this way

Your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's D.O.A.

It's like you're always stuck in second gear

When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year,”

“You're still in bed at ten and work began at eight

You've burned your breakfast, so far things are going great

Your mother warned you there'd be days like these

But she didn't tell you when the world has brought you down to your knees that”

I don’t know about you but as a 20 year old in my last year of college, these lyrics have been my life one TOO MANY times.

Watching it from the age of 10 and now at the age of 20, I understand why my parents and older sister loved and related to the show so much. Now that I am able to understand and even live it just makes it that much more enjoyable for me, which makes this show forever timeless.

“Friends” includes all real life monumental events for six 20 some year olds including: first apartments, first jobs, first marriages and divorces (Ross), first dates, first loves, first fights, first spray tans (Ross again), and most importantly everlasting friendships.

Most shows have an abundant amount of characters or even a slim amount but none compare to those in “Friends.” Each character serves a different purpose and brings something different to the table to complete the group's friendship. Without one you could not have another.

Thank you to the Netflix gods for not only putting all 10 seasons on Netflix but also keeping it for the last couple of years. This gave everyone the opportunity to finally watch it in order rather than a few episodes here and there on 'Nick At Night'.

Watching Ross and Rachel fall in and out of love, Phoebe make new very interesting songs, Monica and Chandler’s start to something great and Joey never gain a single pound no matter how many meatball subs he has had, is the best journey on television of all time.

There is always the theory of bringing back another season, 12 years after the last episode, but why break what’s not broken? Though I would love to see the gang back in action, it won’t be the same, and I think we all know that.

No matter what “Friends” will always be there for you, the way they are for each other. Finding a group of friends like these guys will be nearly impossible, but they set a pretty high standard. So if you ever find any friends numerically as good as them, keep em!

A special shout out to “Friends,” you’ve been there for me on my worst days and my best days. When I was too stressed and needed a breather or was so happy I needed to share it with you. Thank you for always teaching me new things no matter how many times I’ve watch the same episode and given me mistakes to learn from. Watching you guys grow up in the show, I feel as if you’ve watched me grow up too and even helped me; for that I am forever grateful.

So moral of the story is… if you’ve never watched “Friends” watch it. If you’ve never watched it in order… watch it...NOW! You won’t regret it!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
