This may be a silly question but, do you like dogs? Do you like looking at pictures of dogs? Would you rather see pictures of dogs on your Facebook newsfeed than see your relatives argue about politics? Forgive me for assuming, but I’m going to guess that you said “Yes” to all of these questions.
Fortunately for you, I have the best Facebook page you can follow! This page is pure, kind, and heartwarming. This page is the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary page! The Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary is a Facebook page for a non-profit organization that provides a home for senior dogs.
You see, often when people want a dog, they go for the pups. Now there’s nothing wrong with pups. I personally would like to cuddle thousands of pups. However, with a lot of the attention being focused on pups, senior dogs can be overlooked.
Before I tell you more about this organization, let’s just give some praise to the senior dogs. Though they may be old and gray, they’re still kind souls who just want to love and be loved. Deep down, they’re still that pup they were many years ago. They’re still great companions and though they say, “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”, I still believe these good ol’ dogs have some tricks up their sleeves. Or should I say paws?
Anyway, back to the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary. This organization has a mission and it’s a mission I one hundred and ten percent support. Their mission is, "to provide a loving home, good food, high-quality vet care, compassion and comfort to senior dogs for the remainder of their lives.” They also want to, “build a ForeverFoster Home network to enable [them] to place more senior dogs in loving, home settings for the duration of their lives.” And lastly, they’d like to, “provide education on the joys and challenges of caring for aging dogs,” and, “to work with other dog rescue groups to promote the adoption of senior dogs.”
I don’t know about you, but I get emotional from the mission statement alone. Aside from their mission statement, you can find an email, a website, and a way to donate to the organization! The Facebook page also posts videos and photos of the dogs that they’re currently looking after.
Every post includes the names of the dogs and just by what the organization shares, you get a glimpse of the different personalities each dog has! Some dogs are in their own little cliques, and over time you’ll even learn about their favorite spots to relax.
If none of this makes you want to follow the page (which, wow, c’mon, pal. It’s dogs we’re talking about here!), maybe a few pictures will convince you.
If you follow this page…
You’ll get to see dogs like Oreo and Cinnamon sharing a snooze:
Dogs like Bugsy and Hobo chillin’:

Not only will these pictures break up your Facebook newsfeed and bring a smile to your face, but by liking this page you’ll be supporting a really great and genuine organization.
So, go on! Check them out! Take a break from the Joe Biden memes (which I’m a fan of myself), and look at these dogs! I promise you’ll have a tail-waggin’ time!
