In this world of television, movies, and web series, there are numerous fan kingdoms, or "fandoms." One of my personal favorite fandoms is the one surrounding the TV series "Friends." I'm sure many people, inside the fandom and out, have seen this list of "lessons" learned from the show.

This list is basically just a bunch of hilarious inside jokes from the show, and for those who haven't watched the show, they aren't very funny. However, there are a few on this list that can pertain to anyone.

For example, number three on the list states, "Everybody has a lobster." While the humor in the show makes this even better, this has some truth to it in many people's lives. Essentially, Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) says that Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Ross (David Schwimmer) are soulmates, which is something even people who don't watch the show can believe in.

Another good lesson from this list comes from number 25, "A 'Day of Fun' is a good way to get to know someone." It may not have to be a full day, but time spent with someone you dislike is the best way to get to know them.

You may not know the struggle they're going through, and doing something fun with them may give you a better understanding of who they are. At the end of the day, you still don't have to like them, but you can at least have a newfound respect for them.

Other lessons can also be taken from this show that aren't mentioned on this list. Here are a few I'd like to add:

1. Friends will love you, no matter what.

This show has 10 seasons spanning a decade. Each year in the real world was also a year in the show. If this bunch of crazies can stand each other for over 10 years, you and your friends can handle it, too. Also, best friends will not abandon you at the first sign of trouble, they are the ones you turn to when the trouble gets worse.

2. You never know where you will find love.

You may fall in love with the crush you had in high school like Ross, or marry your best friend like Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courtney Cox). Either way, love is something everyone deserves, and finding it is always a surprise.

3. Your parents will always be embarrassing.

It doesn't matter how old you are, it is simply a law of nature that your parents have to follow. At least you don't have a drag queen father like Chandler.

4. The best pick-up line is simple.

5. Bad days will happen.

Everyone has them and they are impossible to avoid, but the most important thing is to have someone to talk to when bad days happen. Whether it's a messy breakup or just a bad hair day, things could always be worse.

6. Life after college is hard.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

1. People assume you are mad all of the time.

2. Ten out of ten times you will give off an intimidating impression to others.

3. People do not acknowledge your feelings because you "do not have any."

4. Constantly being exhausted from trying to smile and not look like a witch.

5. And on the rare occasion your facial expressions show how happy you are, your friends think you are going crazy.

6. Each of your friends has said "I thought you were so mean when I first met you" at some point.

7. Then they follow that by saying "you are just hard to read."

8. So naturally if people do not know you they just assume you are a snob.

9. And when you are actually mad, your facial expressions are horrifying.

10. In the end you always look like you are judging people, when in reality people are ALWAYS judging you.
