To My Friends From High School

The ones whom I don't really see anymore.

To My Friends From High School

To the people I spent my whole childhood and high school career with and barely see you anymore this one is for you:

High school was a great time for all of us and I love that I got to spend it and have that experience with you guys. We had such great times wasting time in study halls, causing trouble in science class, spending track practices together, and hanging out every weekend in our free time. The friendship that you guys gave me helped me become the person I am today and learn some very valuable life lessons.

You guys are the ones who I got to see all day every day for most of my teenage years and yet I only rarely would get annoyed with you! Together we got through the struggles of Regents Exams and all of the New York State testing. (I mean what state has that many tests you have to pass to get through high school?) We got to go on so many field trips together that we would just waste time on so we wouldn't have to go back to school early and pretend to act totally interested.

Together we helped each other figure out what we wanted to study in college and helped and encouraged each other to pursue our dreams and become what we want. We encouraged each other to go on to college and always want better for ourselves. We got through the struggles of high school together. Helping each other study, getting through all the drama of high school and keeping it to a minimum, and helping each other choose the right college for us.

When high school came to an end, I honestly thought nothing would change and we would remain extremely close friends forever. But we went away to different colleges and got super busy and met other people and made new friends. We are all so busy during the school year studying and spending time with our friends on campus, and during the summer, we are even busy because we are all working trying to pay off all of the debt we have already accumulated.

But this does not mean you guys aren't important to me anymore. Just because we all have our own separate lives now doesn't mean we aren't still friends, but it does mean we see each other a lot less than we did in high school. Now when we get together it really is fun, because we do it so rarely that it's so great to see everyone again and we get to reminisce about high school. You are still super important to me.You are the ones who were by my side through some of the hardest decisions of my life and I will forever appreciate and love you guys.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
