By the time classes begin in early September, the only thing really on our minds is how many weeks left until Thanksgiving break. The time we’re supposed to be spending on essays and projects and studying for tests is actually spent scrolling through Buzzfeed for new dessert recipes, and planning out which shows you’ll be binge-watching in the week you have off...or is that just me?
A classic choice for your binge-watching needs is, quite obviously, Friends. So sit back, relax, and enjoy these 14 times that Friends depicted how your Thanksgiving break probably went.
1. When you see your family and friends after months of being apart
Because two months is just too long.
2. When you wake up and realize it's turkey time
You've probably waited all year for this one meal.
3. When your distant relative tells a joke, and you feel forced to laugh
Seriously, Great Aunt Betty Mae. That wasn't even remotely funny.
4. When those same distant relatives start asking if you're in a relationship
Great Aunt Betty Mae, please stop asking questions. They're all making me sad.
5. When your mom tells you to wear your fancy clothes
Because while you were away at school, your mom probably spent weeks and weeks finding the perfect outfit to impress good old Great Aunt Betty Mae.
6. When your mom asks you and your siblings to help in the kitchen...
Even though you haven't seen each other in months, you better believe you're still going to fight like four-year-olds.
7. ...and then when your mom realizes she shouldn't have asked for it
Big mistake, Mom. Get ready for a food war.
8. When you hear "Dinner's ready!"
Like I said, you've probably been waiting. All. Year. For. This.
9. ...and you make sure you have on your eating pants
Those fancy clothes aren't nearly stretchy enough for the amount of turkey you plan on consuming.
10. After about ten minutes into stuffing your face:
But just because you're full, doesn't mean you're going to stop eating. Pass the cranberry sauce, please.
11. When someone eats the last piece of pie
C'mon, it's the only time of year Mom makes apple pie, and dad ate it all?!
12. When you pretend to be distracted while your family is talking about you
Just because you're not at the table anymore, doesn't mean you can't hear them.
13. When your love life gets brought up again
Because, let's be honest: it's bound to happen again.
14. And finally, when the day is over and the Christmas season begins
We're definitely not inviting Great Aunt Betty Mae to Christmas dinner, that's for sure.
