Well. It’s that time of year again. When all you can see is red, pink, and purple hearts, couples keep making cute faces at each other, and romantic movies are put at the forefront of most stores and that seems to be all that’s recommended on Netflix. I, myself, am single, as I am most years. That does not mean, however, I’m not celebrating the holiday with a valentine. In fact, I have the greatest valentine of all: My friends.

Yep! My best friends are my valentines and I try to treat them like that as much as I can. I know, to some people this might seem stupid or pathetic. It’s really not though and I have a reason for this.

1. We are always there for me.

They seem to like me for some reason or other, and we’ve only grown closer over the years. They know how I feel on any given day and seem to know exactly what to do.

2.They make me laugh.

All they have to do is send me Pinterest pictures, but sometimes they feel like telling me the funny story of the day.

3. I (somehow) make them laugh.

I don’t understand it, but they do.

4. We know everything about each other.

Most of my close friends and I grew up together and we know exactly what makes the other tick and exactly why it does.

5. We always try to make sure the other is happy.

Sometimes, it’s hard to keep track of things, but we try and make sure that they have a smile on a couple times a day.

6. When we’re sad, we try to give some extra love.

I know I have to make sure a friend completely OK before I even think of hanging up the phone.

7. When days are bad, we just try to be there for each other.

There are days where we just can’t find it in us to find the good. We sit with each other, look forward to the future, and just try to accept that some days aren’t the best, but at least we have each other.

My friends are the greatest Valentine’s Day gift I could ask for so I make them each my valentine in return! Everyone has them, so love and appreciate them this February 14th and make the day special!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
