Sports are the one constant in life. No matter what time of year it is, there's always some sport going on and it doesn't even have to be a major sport like football, basketball, or baseball. There is always hockey, soccer, and many other sports.
Friends are supposed to keep you sane and support you. What happens when you combine sports and best friends? You get sports best friend. You don't have to have the same favorite sports but you have a certain connection. Here are some signs you have that connection.
1. You both have a sports app on your phone.
Whether it be ESPN, Bleacher Report or whatever, you both have an app, even more than one. You constantly check not only on your own team but other teams as well.
2. You constantly send highlights to each other.
It's not just one, it's multiple. It can be a blooper or something awesome. You both are on the constant look out for highlights to send each other.
3. You pick what games to watch that night together.
You text each other throughout the day arguing on what game you are going to watch. "But this game is supposed to be really good!" is constantly said.
4. You have favorite players from every team.
The phrase, "Look at my boy doing work!" is said throughout the game.
5. You both celebrate at every opportunity.
There is something to be said about having a celebration dance with your best friend.
6. When boys don't believe you when you two when say you watch sports.
Ain't nobody got time for that.
7. The look guys give you when they realize you two actually know sports.
It's like they've seen a unicorn and they can hardly believe. Announcement for everyone out there, there are girls out there that know sports just as well as, or even better then, you. We don't do it to impress you.
8. When you two actually decide on a game to watch, you cheer for opposing teams.
It always becomes just as intense just as if your favorite team was playing or its relaxing, depends on your friendship.
9. You both treat your favorite players as your children.
"So proud" is whispered throughout the entire game. You both compare players.
10. Your conversations always have some sort of sports topic in them
It's not the only thing you talk about but it's always a part of your conversations.
11. But no matter what, you both will be cheering for your team.
You both know when to get together to cheer on the team.
