The mornings who called me worthless
and made me curl up in bed
until I could no longer dream
became mornings of coffee
and planning for a better future.
The afternoons who called me empty
and made me stare out the window
until my eyes would burn
became afternoons of car rides
and singing to songs that never seemed to end.
The nights who called me lonely
and made me weep
until I could no longer breathe
became nights of long talks
and scoops of ice cream.
To put it simply,
you made me feel
loved, worthy, and full of life.
I wish there were
a better way to thank you
and for you, I'll spend my entire life
trying to find it.
