Friend Groups Confuse Me, And I'm Lowkey Over Them

Most think of Regina George and the plastics as their stereotypical idea of friendgroups, and honestly, that could be true.

Where, when, and why did they even start?

Friend Groups.

Friend groups are the weirdest, most questionable group you might ever be a part of. What is even the point of them? Maybe to bring all your favorite people together to do the same thing at once...But who said that was a good idea.

Most think of Regina George and the plastics as their stereotypical idea of friend groups, and honestly, that could be true. Friend groups usually start with one or two friends thinking it would be the greatest idea to mend all their friends together. It's not.

Most friend groups in your surrounding town, school or workplace all have their hidden secrets. Social media provides the greatest facade about how they truly feel about each other. Corny captions from rap songs, signature poses, and God forbid someone misses out in a picture. Everyone looks like they love each other and like they would never say a thing about another group member...A total lie.

If you have ever been in a friend group or friends with someone who is in a friend group, you will most likely know the 411 about who actually hates who. A number of catty fights and jealousy...is sickening.

The group chat starts off with the "Good Morning" text followed by several random emojis. The group chat name will change depending on the season, adding fall leaves or snowflake emojis. Oh, and DON'T dare change the name after someone does because I guarantee you will be the biggest b*tch ever because of it.

Also, don't be the person who had to miss out on the weekly group hangout because everyone will talk sh*t about you. The chemistry behind a friend group still puzzles me.

You talk with one person and they tell you how much they hate someone else in the friend group or how much they annoy them. Then, you see a picture of the same people together smiling, holding hands trying to be all cute.

Doesn't this confuse you? Because I thought we were on the same page but I guess not.

Gtg, hanging out with these b*tches.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
