We've been friends since the awkward eighth grade stage, and thank you for continuing to be my best friend now that we're both in college. You're three hours away, yet you're still always there when I need your advice or need a great joke to get me through the day. Now that we're both in college, I'll admit I was afraid we would be so busy that it would be hard to stay in touch. Luckily, we stayed best friends throughout high school and have even grown closer since going our separate ways. They say you're lucky if you can count the number of friends you stay in contact with after high school on your hand; but I know we will stay friends through it all.

From the summer nights when we would ride bikes to the beach and get ice cream to prom shopping to graduating and living in different states, we've been through it all. I can always count on you to make me laugh. You helped me grow as a person and learn to step out of my comfort zone despite being the shy freshman who feared walking the crowded halls. You were always there, giving me that extra push when I needed it.

Now that we're older, we have our own lives in different states. I'm really lucky to always have my friend to come home to and know nothing has changed between us. You're going to be so successful one day, and I'll always be by your side cheering you on. We've grown up together, and now we're starting our lives. I want nothing but the best for you and I'll be there for you every step of the way.

You've helped me so much and I couldn't have survived middle school or high school without you. You always cheer me up and I can't wait for what the future has in store for us. Thank you for jamming out in the car with me, cracking up in class, and making my life so much better. Six years later and we're still a dynamic duo. You'll always be my best friend and I'm blessed to have you in my life... really, thank you for sticking with me through my awkward stage, you're a true friend.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
