In life, there are people who come into your life and there are people who leave, that’s a fact we all know to be true. I have noticed recently a trend of talking about the people who leave on social media - and while this is empowering, I feel that the people who come into your life and rock your world need to be highlighted, too.
College is an especially great time to focus on this because it can sometimes feel as though you meet someone new every single day. Some of these people are better for you than others, but the ones who are good for you seem to be the greatest people you will ever meet.
This year I have had the joy of being an Assistant Director in my organization and it has been the most rewarding and fulfilling thing I have done. We have 90 freshmen that all of us AD’s and execs are in charge of and let me tell you, they are one of the greatest groups of 90 people I have met.
We had our Winter Celebration last night and it was so rewarding to get to love on them and celebrate all of their hard work they have done this semester. Last night was a night where I was “in my feelings” because I realized I only had one more semester with these guys, but I am forever grateful for such an incredible first semester.
The freshmen in my organization are some of those people who feel like the greatest people you will ever meet. Each and every one of them is so diverse in their thoughts, feelings, senses of humor, almost every aspect about them; however, they are all bound together based on their compassion, empathy, leadership, and selfless, servant's hearts.
In this lifetime, countless people will waltz into your life and perhaps double that will walk out of your life - that’s why, when you encounter people like the 90 freshmen in MSC FISH this year, you should squeeze them around the neck and shower them in love whenever you get the chance. To all of the freshmen, you are life changers. I love you guys and I am so proud of you.
