12 Freshman Year of College Problems in GIFS

1. Your roommates are going to be one of two kinds of people.

2. The first week, you are going to have no idea where your classes are... because who actually pays attention during orientation.

3. Then even when you know where they are... you're still running across campus to get to your next class like...

4. Then there are those mornings when you are looking like this because you clearly went out last night.

5. Then, just as you thought you were getting into the groove of things, your computer crashes at 5 a.m. and your paper is due in three hours and you didn’t save it.

And turning it in like...

6. Because Netflix is your best friend on those nights in, you'll find yourself becoming addicted to a new TV series right before midterms or finals.

7. BUT you promised yourself you'd sustain some self control. At least you tried until you slept through your alarm the next day and realized you’re late for that same midterm or final anyway.

8. Then when things don't go the way you want, you'll end up daydreaming about what would happen if you just dropped out of college and became a stripper. Don't worry, we’ve all been there.

9. Sooner or later your going to find yourself becoming dependent on coffee and energy drinks during finals week.

10. Beware the freshman 15. In a world where funds are low, stress is high, and comfort food is also readily available to you at your nearest grocery store... there's a chance your clothes might not end up fitting the same.

11. Chances are you are going to be the poorest you’ve ever been…

12. But despite this you'll have to find a way to pay for textbooks.

The first quarter of Freshman year can be shocking, confusing, and without a doubt... different. So knowing what's ahead is really important. So get prepared but don't be scared. Everything's going to be ok! And remember, these will be one of the best years of your life.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
