Freshman Love Life As Told By One Tree Hill

3

Every girl has a fantasy that one day she'll get married and live her own fairytale. Similarly, every father and mother has told their princess that she's special and should never settle. And each girl has done just that.

1. She always heard love stories about her aunt and uncle meeting in high school and falling in love. So when she went to high school, she thought it would be easy – she would find the boy of her dreams. She truly believed she would find this:

2. Unfortunately, she didn't find it in high school. Now she's going to college and reinventing herself. She tried the preppy look and attempted to rock her high school uniform kilt, but none of that got the boys' attention. As a result, she decides that the best way to get a guy's everlasting attention is to dress like this:

.

3. Every weekend she dresses up like this, strutting in her heels and hoping she'll meet a boy who will fill a void in her heart – even just for a few hours. The latter is true on weekends when she just wants to be with her friends, yet also wants go home with this:

4. For the first semester, everything seems perfect and college is exactly as it's supposed to be. The future looks bright, so she doesn't worry about meeting the boy of her dreams. Then, her two best friends get boyfriends and she's in a panic. Her most used phrase is "boys don't like me." She really doesn't understand why she couldn't find this during the first semester of college:

5. Nonetheless, she had fun and made friends. She thought everything would fall into place with grades, friends and boys. This girl wanted her entire life to be planned in the first year of her freshman year of college. So although she may not have found her prince charming she found friends like this:

6. And on the toughest of days, she even has friends like this:

7. Some girls are lucky enough to find prince charming in high school. Others are lucky enough to find prince charming while waiting in line at the Good-To-Go the first week of college, or maybe even on move-in day when she needed help getting a bag out of the car. These girls are lucky to have their future love-life planned. However, one day everyone will find something worth waiting for.

8. Just remember, never change who you are because people come and go, but this is forever:

Freshman year of college goes by so fast. Meet friends, make memories, but don't look for a boyfriend. One will come when you aren't looking, and it will be one of the best unforeseen things that happen to you. However, your best friends will be the best thing that ever happens to you. They will be your P. Sawyer to your B. Davis.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester.
