If You're A Senior Heading To College... Get Ready.

Going to college is a big deal to people. It’s a big honor to be accepted into it. Although freshman is in for a big shock when they first get there. Lots of changes are going to happen to them and they will either love it or hate it. There are a couple of things that will be a lot different than living with their parents then living at college.

1. The Bathroom

There are a lot of changes to a bathroom when going to college. Especially with girls. They leave hair on the shower wall, hair products and their hair straighteners and curling irons. For boys, they are usually just messy in general.

2. Roommates/suitemates

Roommates

and suitemates can be hard to get along with. The roommates can have different

personalities and clash all of the time, and suitemates can get on your nervous

and clash with each other with all of their mess, and leave you to clean up the mess (Trust me, I know)

3. Class

The classes will be much bigger than they were in high school, or they could be smaller. Depends on what class you are in. You may not get to know everyone in the classroom because it is to big.

4. Making friends

Making friends could be easy or hard. There are lots of people in college, so you may

find friends easy by being in a dorm or in just a classroom.

5. Teachers

Teachers are much tougher in college than they are in high school. They expect more of you because now they are in college, and not a high schooler. Assignments are due earlier, teachers are tough at grading and homework is harder.

6. Homework

Like I said homework will get tougher. You may not want to do it at first, but you know you will be graded on it and you need a good grade. You also have to have time to do homework and sometimes you just get busy and don’t think about the homework you have to do.

7. Money

Most of you will probably not have jobs. So you would not have any money. It could get a little frustrating and difficult if you want to go out to get food or go out for the night with friends. You may want to buy something, but cannot afford anything.

8. Healthy eating

Everyone knows the saying "the freshman 15", but it is not true. You may gain some weight, but not that much. The dining hall food can get pretty disgusting after a while, so you want to have something other than that food so you go out. Probably to a fast food restaurant with non-healthy food so you can gain weight with that kind of food.

9. Time Management

You have to manage your time wisely. Maybe setting a schedule could be a good thing or spread your time out. You may have other arrangements to do, but you also need to get certain things done so you need to figure out when to do things that are important.

cousins
Bailey Totten

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.

You are a senior in high school, you have made it to the final year that you have been looking forward to since the first day of freshman year. Whether this has been the worst or best four years of your life, appreciate it. You will never have these times back, you will never be in high school again. It is hard for someone still in high school to wrap their brain around, but there will be a day when you wish you could be in the shoes you're in right now. Here are 15 things I have learned being in college that I wish I knew as a high school senior:

Everyone, and I mean everyone has heard of the show "One Tree Hill". Many people think that this show is the best thing they've ever watched and others won't bother watching it because they know they'll get hooked. And yes, I know many people have written about this show before, but I couldn't resist. I could re-watch every season multiple times to the point where I can almost quote an entire scene. Trust me, once you start "One Tree Hill", you will be hooked. There's way too many reasons to list as to why you'll love this show, and these are just a few.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
