Fraternity guys are always seen as exactly the same. Colored shorts, button down shirts, Vineyard Vines, Sperry’s, and so on. If a guy has a combination of these clothing choices, they are seen to be “so frat.” It’s the stereotype of all fraternity guys.
Camden Levine, a sophomore at The Ohio State University, from Franklin, Connecticut, breaks that stereotype. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and yes he wears Vineyard Vines and Sperry’s, but he has a whole other side to him that many haven’t seen.
During the summer before Camden’s junior year, he DJ-ed for the first time. He began playing small shows. Little did he know, that those small shows would be the start to his booming career.
His small shows turned into bigger shows once he started his time at Ohio State. The Columbus and Ohio State communities have both been very supportive of his career thus far, along with his brothers in Sigma Alpha Epsilon. During his freshman year at Ohio State, he opened up for Shwayze, Hodor (Rave of Thrones), KapSlap, Gazzo and more. On February 2nd, 2014, Camden Levine, also known as, Captain Cam, got his biggest break so far. He got his first single on iTunes, “All Me.” He continued his career by interning at Avalon Mohegan Sun during the summer going into his sophomore year. He assisted DJs during their night performances, and worked the lights.
Now comes the most exciting part. On September 25, 2015, Levine is playing at Life in Color in Columbus alongside DVBBS and Delora. This is the biggest show he’s played to date, and it’s an amazing experience for him.
Next time you think all fraternity guys are the same, think of Camden Levine. He’s a 19-year-old in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, with 100,000 hits on soundcloud, scheduled to perform at Life in Color, and working toward performing at many more music shows and festivals. Oh, and he attends all of his classes, and lives a perfectly normal social life. He has the best of both worlds.
