My excitement for Frank Ocean's latest album, "Blonde" has me completely infatuated. His album was officially released on iTunes on August 20, 2016. I'm not sure how many Frank Ocean fans Tuskegee has, but even if I weren't a previous fan I would be one now. Ocean's anticipated album date was pushed back, but I must say it was definitely worth the wait.
Ever since the questioning of his sexuality, I feel like that has caused many judgements to be placed upon him. Whether Frank Ocean is purple, yellow, or had 20 toes, I would find his music just as inspiring. Not too many R&B artists in this generation can stay true to themselves. They let the industry dictate the usage of their own gifts, or they choose to appeal to mainstream audiences. Every song on his latest album has a message or a story behind it.
Each song was beautifully molded into this masterpiece of an album. Music is supposed to make you want to express yourself in ways unimaginable. You should be able to relate to it, feel inspired by it, and even pour your heart out to it. There are no prerequisites to creating your own sound, or an award winning album. If all else fails, you can never fail at just being yourself. I commend Frank Ocean for staying true to himself.
His "Channel Orange" album was unforgettable. I recall how popular "Thinkin Bout' You" became, and that was when I couldn't put my phone down until I listened to every song ever made by him. Four years later, he releases a great comeback album. I'm not even sure if he wants to necessarily make a comeback; maybe he just wanted to be generous and contribute his blissful sound just once more. Hopefully, he can spoil us with more mind blowing music in the future. It's good to have you back Mr. Ocean.
