The moment that I stumbled into my new home this past January with countless bags, boxes, and hopes for a great spring semester in tow, I knew that I finally found the right home on the Hudson. Walking out onto the balcony that overlooked the river for the first time, I recall feeling incredibly settled and peaceful. Remarkable, really, taking into account how chaotic move-in days usually are.
The instant I opened the door to find the living room decorated with cozy string lights and wooden red painted ‘A6’ letters, the house felt like more than just a house right away: it felt like a home.
Moving into Foy in the middle of the year taught me so many things. It taught me that if you are not happy with where you are, do something about it. You are never stuck. It also taught me the importance of trusting in the fact that everything happens for a reason, and that some of the best memories are totally spontaneous.
So thank you, Foy A6, for the best spring semester a girl could ask for. I’ll never forget all of the days we spent going on Dunkin’ runs, the nights we spent watching endless reruns of old reality television shows, and the hours we spent making some of the best memories of college yet.
