Well, it's that time of year again. The time when we dust off our grills, dig out any American flag apparel that we own and scrounge through the garage for any old sparklers we might have. We as humans love to celebrate our country and look stylish while doing it. But you know, let's not be so selfish. Have you ever thought about man's best friend and how they would choose to celebrate Independence Day? No, probably not. But guess what, I did think about it. I spent hours compiling grueling amounts of research and can tell you in my professional opinion how each dog breed will be celebrating this Fourth of July.

The Labrador Retriever

These sporty dogs who come in three colors (no, not red, white and blue) are one of the most popular dog breeds in America. The Labrador will definitely be celebrating this 4th of July by spending every second swimming in the lake with his buddies, only leaving to gobble up all of the hot dogs and burgers in sight.

The Pug

These squishy little guys will be the center of attention this holiday. With their hard to resist wrinkles and lack of nose and tail, pugs will be displaying the highest of waisted shorts and the croppiest of crop tops this season in an attempt to distract from their pudgy physique.

The Dalmatian

What's more American than a Dalmatian? Well, probably a lot of things since Dalmatians originated from what is currently Croatia. These responsible pups were bred for running alongside carriages and making sure nothing distracted the driver. This Fourth of July, Dalmatians will probably be acting as the designated driver for those who choose to celebrate a little too hard.

The Puli

Yes, this is a real dog. The Puli, who very closely resembles a mop, would be the person at the party who cleans up after everyone else.

The Golden Retriever

Everyone in the universe has at least heard of Air Bud and his famous following as a "Golden Receiver." Well, on the Fourth of July, Golden Retrievers will be tossing around footballs and baseballs with friends, most likely showing everyone else up with their amazing receiver skills.

The Bernese Mountain Dog

These big fluffy goofballs will be spending this holiday the best way they know how: indoors with the air conditioning on full blast. With all of that fur, the Bernese Mountain Dog will be the person that is happiest inside, chilling with friends.

The Poodle

Standard, miniature or toy; this pup will be celebrating the holiday season in the classiest of ways. The poodle will be sporting a floppy hat and most likely hanging out on a yacht or private jet or wherever else you might find the Kardashian of dogs.

The Dachshund

The Dachshund, more commonly known as the Weiner Dog, will also be present to party this Fourth of July. The Dachshund will spend most of the day hovering around the grill, waiting for the hot dogs to be done. For some reason, this dog feels a sort of kinship with that type of barbecue treat...

The German Shepherd Dog

Although they are the most beautiful of all of the dogs (no, I'm not biased), the German Shepherd could be construed as the party-pooper this Fourth of July. If your boat music is blaring or your illegal fireworks are spotted, then these guys would be the ones rolling up in a squad car to make sure the rules are being followed.

The Newfoundland

These gentle giants who can range anywhere from 100-200 pounds will be the life of the party. Newfoundlands are the "fun uncle" at any Fourth of July get together. Kids will be climbing all over them and wanting to play with them for hours, and these guys will happily oblige.

The Lhasa Apso

These ladies will be far from Independent this Independence Day. The Lhasa Apso will be sporting topknots and traveling in packs of similarly dressed friends. Countless selfies will be taken and they will literally be having the best Fourth of July.

The Old English Sheepdog

No time to play this holiday for this dog breed! While little kids are running around with sparklers and jumping off docks, this dog's job is to keep a watchful eye and round up any stragglers. These dogs would be the parents of the group.

The Border Collie

While The Old English Sheepdog is the parent this Fourth of July, the Border Collie is most definitely the patriotic toddler. Although incredibly intelligent, this dog breed would be bouncing off the walls, ready to chase any Frisbee, catch any ball and swim any lake that dared to get in its way. This toddler's energy cannot be contained.

The English Bulldog

The English Bulldog would be the grumpy old man at this holiday's festivities. You might catch him shouting phrases like, "America used to be great!" and, "Those fireworks are too dang loud!" It's best to find a cool, shady place for these guys to just sort of nap the day away.

The Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

This one is all about water this Fourth of July. Paddle boarding? Yes please. Boating? Obviously. Water skiing? Wake boarding? Tubing? All of the above. Maybe just avoid lakes with ducks, for obvious reasons.

So there you have it! A cumulative list of some dog breeds and how they will be celebrating this Monday. Stay safe and celebrate your country, but whatever you do, don't be a Bulldog.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

140
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
