Fourth Of July Road Trip Essentials

With the Fourth of July approaching quickly, a road trip with all of your friends is in the midst. Everyone is looking forward to a weekend getaway to the beach with all of your friends. Many students from ASU are traveling to California, specifically Newport Beach or San Diego. Now, the only thing between you and the beach is, packing... Packing may not be your strong suit, but if you make sure to pack these few items, you will be ready for the weekend of a lifetime.

Sunglasses.
The first thing to pack is sunglasses. A gradient blue or bright red colored lens would be perfect for this holiday weekend. They are the cutest accessory for the beach and match with any outfit or bathing suit. On top of that, they protect your eyes from the sun as well as hiding your eyes during Sunday brunch after a long night out.

Bathing Suit.
Obviously, this is the wardrobe of choice for a trip to the beach. Not only do you need a suit for everyday (or the ability to mix and match), but you also need a special suit for the Fourth. This suit will have as much red, white and blue as the American flag itself. It is the perfect day to go a little overboard with your patriotism. Thankfully, nearly every business along the coast accepts customers wearing only bathing suit, so you don't need to worry about packing tons of outfits.

Strappy Sandals.
These are the most versatile shoes during the day and on through the night. Strappy sandals go perfect with a sundress for long walks on the beach as well as with a flowy skirt for a nice dinner out on the town. Bringing just one pair will leave room in your suitcase for more bathing suits.

Two-piece Dress.
Recently I have been in love with two-piece dresses. They just show a little bit of your stomach while still keeping it classy. At night time, the beach is a little chilly so this outfit will be perfect for walking around town.

Playlists.
A road trip isn't complete without the perfect playlist. Whether you are into pop music, country, oldies or hard-core rap, as long as you are singing your heart out on the drive, it will make time go by much faster.

Have a fun, safe and stylish Fourth of July. Happy Independence Day, America!

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
