1. Psalm 3:5
I lie down and sleep; I awake again because the Lord sustains me (NIV).

I have already written an article about this verse, but every time I read this verse I remember the goodness of the Lord. The fact that the Lord sustains us when we are weak and are searching for rest is remarkable. He truly loves and treasures us. It's hard to fully grasp the amount of love God has for each one of us and quite frankly, I don't think we will fully understand it on this earth. The creator of the universe wants to bring us rest and awaken us... that's incredible!
2. Jeremiah 29:12-14
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you", declares the Lord (NIV).
The verse that is heard a lot is Jeremiah 29:11 and I agree that it is an incredible verse with so much hope and depth, yet the verses that come after it are just as profound. God is literally saying that He will listen to us and answer! When we have a personal relationship with our Heavenly Father, we literally get to talk with Him. It's almost as if we are chatting with Him in a coffee shop about our lives and the truth that we can spread to the nations about Jesus sacrifice and resurrection. Okay, well it might not be that audible, but He is still talking with us through the Holy Spirit which is still pretty awesome!
3. John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you (NIV).
What I love about this verse is that Jesus has no hesitation in challenging us. I don't know about you, but it's not always easy loving others. People can hurt us, judge us and be rude, but we can also do the same to them as well. Jesus didn't dismiss the fact that others will hurt us and we will hurt them, but He's saying to extend grace and love as He has. He challenges us with this commandment, but He also reveals His goodness through this verse. He loves us despite our flaws and imperfections and He sacrificed everything to give us that salvation.
4. John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (NIV).
Similar to the verse above, Jesus tells us the truth and is real with us. He states that we will have trouble, but that we will find peace in Him. This verse is so incredible because Jesus doesn't beat-around-the-bush (even though God set the bush on fire), instead He tells it how it is, yet also gives us hope. Think about it this way, would you rather have a friend tell you the truth about something or have a fake response? The fact that Jesus is up-front shows us how much He cares about us.
The goodness of God is seen throughout the entire Bible, old and new testament. I really like how they are called the old and new testaments because that is exactly what they are, the are testaments of who God is, His character and His goodness.
