Where do I even begin? It feels like this year just started and it's already almost over. I've already been in college for almost two years and it seems like just yesterday I was watching Hannah Montana on Disney Channel and talking about going to PG 13 movies with my friends. Time really does fly.
So let's start talking about some things you learn/ find out/ figure out your second year of your undergraduate degree because you're finally getting used to what it's like to be in college:
It's okay to room with one of your high school best friends. Not all of those situations end in disaster.
Lunch dates with friends are essential even they're just for 30 minutes.
You're not a freshman anymore so they no longer "hold your hand." You have to figure things out on your own.
Watch as many episodes of Friends or How I Met Your Mother as possible. They will help get you through the day.
Take study breaks and make time for "life talk" with roommates.
When it comes to group projects, actually take time to get to know your group...it makes the projects better and helps them go smoother.
Still make time to visit mom and dad. You're older but so are they.. believe me they want to see you.
Go on spontaneous walks around campus on sunny days.
Apply for an internship and even if you don't get it, it gives you interview experience.
Having your own room is so much better than sharing one.
Go get ice cream just cause it's Thursday.
Celebrate the little things like someone saying "hi" to you while you're walking to class.
Have as many movie nights with friends as possible. These are the nights you'll remember.
Believe it or not, cleaning does help get your mind off things. Clean your room every once in awhile.
Go to church with your friends. It'll make your friendship stronger.
Lastly, remember grades are important but they aren't everything. People, relationships, and passion are what make a good life...not a GPA.
Thanks for listening!
