Formal As Told by Amy Poehler

Formal season is here! Whether it's your sorority's formal you're attending or you're going as a date to one, Formal season comes second to football season for Greek Life. There is no better way to celebrate the end of spring semester than with your sisters and some hot dates. And there is no one better to describe the thoughts and actions of many sorority girls on Formal Day than Amy Poehler.

1. You spend the morning of Formal wishing that you stuck with your work out plan for the week. Your hair is not quite cooperating, and your date just texted you that his outfit might not match yours, as planned. Everything is off to a not so great start, but do not get discouraged yet!

2. You finally pull yourself together, and look at yourself in the mirror, and you see how hot you actually look tonight. *Snaps Selfie*

3. Next, you meet up with your friends with your date. You look over to see that your friend's sketchy set up is actually pretty cute, and you give her one those go-get-em winks.

4. When you finally get to Formal, everyone is crowded around the bar. You flirt with the hot bartender so he serves you first. Yes, your date is standing right beside you, but you're doing this for his benefit, after all.

5. You drag your date to the dance floor hoping to find your girls. Finally, you come across them, and you can start to break it down!

6. You're finally in the zone, having a blast dancing and taking pics with your date and friends. That's when the dreaded announcement comes: the buses are here to take you home.

7. Everyone on the bus keeps asking what the plans are for when you get back. Plans? You were secretly hoping someone would suggest food and sleep, but it seems like most are going to go to the local bar.

8. As the night is about to end, you can't feel your feet due to your heels, and you are beyond ready for bed. All in all, you had a blast, and you can't wait till next year's Formal season.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
