I Forgot What It Was Like To Be Loved

Until, I met you.

I Forgot What It Was Like To Be Loved
Simon Garnier

I forgot what it was like to love and be loved- until I met you, that is.

Months ago, I found myself stuck at what seemed like the crossroads of life. I was trapped. I was continuinously drowning in this horrifying and menacing ocean that was filled with thousands of gloomy emotions. I was swallowed up in the current and wave after wave came crashing over me- slowly and painfully consuming my entire being, pulling me down farther and farther into the unknown.

With time and positivity, I learned to swim. And when I say swim, I mean swim my heart out. I pulled myself out of the current and I found my way back to shore. And as I reached the warm sand, I realized that I made it. I was the one who found my way back home- back to the girl I wanted to be. I was no longer drowning- but living.

Fast forward a couple months-today. I never saw it coming, you, that is. You came out of nowhere, but my god am I so very thankful that you did. I thank my lucky stars for you every single day.

Without even realizing it, you showed me what love really is. I thought that I knew. I thought that I had loved before- that I was in love previously. But, then I met you. And with just one look, one simple glance, I realized that I was wrong. And in that exact moment, I realized that I now knew. You made me see things that I never saw before. You made me believe in myself and you helped me see more beauty in this world then I had already viewed.

With you, things are so very different- they are pure and they are every bit of magic. I can go throughout my day and breathe for once. With you, things are easy. And I mean easy in the context of effortless. You and I are effortless together. We fit so perfectly. They say everyone has an other half out there, somewhere- you are mine. I found my other half.

Everyday you make me a better version of myself. You are there for me constantly and without hesitation. Whether it is to say all the right words when I need a push or even if it is simply calling me when you don't have to wake up, just to make sure that I get to work on time. You show me love everyday. And there is no better love, then yours.

I said before that I won the lottery with you. But, it is so much more than that. You are the winning run in a tied baseball game. You are the rainbow after a rain storm. You are the acceptance letter to nursing school. You are a no-hitter in a baseball game. You are a touchdown, a goal. You are a freshly washed car. You are a first place medal. You are everything beautiful and magnificent in this world.

Thank you for loving me. And thank you for showing me what it is like to truly be loved and to love in return. You are my best friend and my other half and with you, I have everything.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
