Growing up at least once you heard that if someone wanted to be with you they would be and they would find their way back to you. “If it was really meant to be.” A lot of people believe in that. But I’m here to tell you that it takes both people in a relationship to make it work. You can act like you are the world and you should be treated the best by that person but if you’re not treating them the same then why would they come running back to you?
Everyone in this world deserves happiness and a lot of us find that in another person. But as our teachers, parents, peers have said “treat others how you want to be treated.” We were taught that at such a young age and you would think adults would take that with them through the years but they don’t. The biggest thing I see in relationships in today’s world is one person giving more than the other. I hardly ever see that working for people. There may be “a toilet seat for every ass” but your not going to find the right one if your not putting your time and effort into it.
I think the lesson here is the saying “if it was really meant to be it will be” is a bunch of bullshit. If you want something that badly you don’t just sit there and wait for it. You work for it, you go running for it at full speed with a good mindset. If people today put as much work into relationships as they do taking selfies, picking a filter, coming up with excuses as to why you should not to go to the gym, reasons why you deserve that fast food, relationships would be so much better. You’re not going to get a master’s degree by sitting in your dorm watching Netflix all day, and you’re not going to find the one your going to be with the rest of your life by waiting for someone to fall in love with you.
This generation is so lazy when it comes to relationships. And I don’t mean liking their selfies on Instagram, snap chatting them, keeping a snap streak, commenting on all their Facebook posts when I say you need to put effort in. They’re going to remember you more for something that you said/ did in person over something you did on social media. Social media isn’t everything, I promise. You can be the prettiest person in the world or the most handsome but you’re not going to be worth someone’s time if you can’t put effort in.
Boys, you can act like your such a player and you’ve been with all these girls but that gets old eventually. Stop playing girls because if you don’t everyone’s going to be sick of your shit and your going to be very lonely. And girls, you can act like you’re the queen and no one is worth your time but that gets old too. You can try to search for the perfect one but no one is perfect and you’ll find that out when you fall in love with his flaws. Moral of this is, you have to fight for what you want, you have to dedicate yourself to it.
