A Thank You Letter To "My Person"
Lisandra Mejia

Honestly, there is just so much to thank you for. I probably would be able to fit it all in this article, and that's saying something because there have been no limit to the amount of words in an article. I just want to say right off the bat, I have no clue how you put up with me. Seriously I know I annoy you to death with all my stupid questions, comments, jokes. There is SO much you have done for me and I could never in a billion years be able to tell you how much it means to me.

You’ve taught me to push myself.

I’m gonna admit, I’m not the most focused person when it comes to school. Currently I have straight A’s in procrastinating, but we’ve been working on that. Whether its school or just life you push me to try new things, and have new experiences. I mean, if it wasn’t for you I would have already skipped everyday of biology and English.

You know how to help me through anything

2016, what a year. There’s been many up’s and down’s in both of our lives. I have tried to be the best of a friend I could be, but I know I have failed time and time again. Then there's you, who has been there for me no matter what and has had an opinion on no matter the topic, and you found a way to help me through whatever I was going through.

You know me better than I know me.

I have no clue how you do it. You know what I’m gonna do before I do it, which can kinda get a little creepy. But you know what’s best for me so you try to steer me in the right direction.

You never give up on me.

There have been many times since I’ve met you that I’ve wanted to give up. Just throw everything out the window and find a hole to crawl in and die. But when I fell you picked me up and showed me that I shouldn’t give up, that I have a bright future and can’t give up now. You believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. You’ve encouraged me through many tough parts of my life. I can never thank you enough for doing that.

You want the best for me.

A guy better not look at me unless he passes your inspection and your wonderful Facebook stalking skills. But I can’t really say anything because I do the same for you. The only reason that we do it is because we want the best for each other. You never want me to give less than 110% because you know I can do better. You just want me to succeed and live up to my best ability. You just really want the best for me, and I want the best for you.

You just get me.

You know me better than some people I’ve known my entire life. You just understand what I understand. By no means do I mean we are exactly the same. Believe me sometimes I wish I was more like you, but we just have a lot in common. When I talk about class you know exactly which one I’m talking about and exactly my problem. Really, if I talk about anything you know exactly the context and whatever else you know, because you know everything.

I dedicate this article to my partner in crime, my sister in blue and gold, my person, Sadie LaPointe. You’ve been there ever since the first day I met you in Horticulture. I have a feeling Mrs. Haigler knew we would become best friends when she sat us beside of each other. Since I’ve met you, you helped me make a decision that would change my life. You helped me to join the best organization, there is: FFA. Through this we have been on numerous adventures around the country. Other then FFA we have experienced the Dixie Chicks and well, basically surviving high school. Seriously I have no clue how I made it this far without you. I just know I don’t want to know what it is like again. You are the best friend anyone could ask for you are loyal and beautiful and awesome in every way. I hope you like this article, and I can’t wait to see what endeavors await us in 2017.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
