If you know me, you know that my relationship with my mom is admittedly (for both of us) not as strong as most. There was a time when I would admit to anyone that my mom is my best friend – and there is a part of me who misses that entirely. Regardless, it’s time to own that my mom is and always has been there for me – even if it isn’t exactly how I thought it “would always be.” At the end of the day, there is no doubt that I will forever love my mom, for so many reasons; but here are a few.
It’s OK.
Literally, everything is OK! While I don’t and won’t forget what happened – I know that forgiveness is one of the greatest virtues to give and receive. I recognize that you are trying and I understand that it is hard.
I’m sorry.
For absolutely everything hateful that I have done. It’s hard to admit that there are some things I do not regret – but you always taught me to own the things I do and say.
It takes someone strong, to make someone strong.
I wouldn’t be half as strong as I am if it weren’t for you. From health issues, relationship troubles and an endless sea of drama – I am pretty sure you’ve been through it all.
I really do love you – no matter what!
Regardless of anything, it all doesn’t matter; I will always love you! Regardless, you are my mom – there is no changing that and truthfully, I don’t want to change it.
Thank you.
For being my mom and being the best mom you can be. Thank you for believing in me, challenging me and always encouraging me (even if I don’t answer your texts all day). Thank you for providing for me when you can and always being there for the greatest care packages any college student could dream of receiving.
