Forever Daddy's Little Girl

Behind every daughter is an amazing dad

The bond between a father and daughter is something that no one can ever explain. Ever since I was a little girl, I idolized my dad for all of his accomplishments. I forever wanted to be just like my dad because of all his successes and how he is able to do everything he loves. To this day I want to be just like my dad because he is my role model in all aspects of life.

My dad and I share so many similar passions and have so many traditions that I will never forget. When I was younger we would go on father-daughter dates to the Shark's games, motorcycle riding, and always playing sports outside. He taught me how to be strong and to never give up on anything I wanted to do. He has always been my biggest fan and supported me through the good and the bad. I know I can always count on my dad for anything and he never disappoints with giving me the best advice. I just want to take some time and say thank you for everything you have ever done for me.

Thank you for allowing me to look up to you. Thank you for getting me through all the hard times. Thank you for taking me to school on the back of your motorcycle throughout elementary and middle school. Thank you for being my biggest supporter. Thank you for cheering me on at soccer, gymnastics, and field hockey. Thank you for being involved in all the activities I have done. Thank you for always letting me count on you for anything. Thank you for teaching my how to change a tire and change my oil. Thank you for introducing hockey to me. Thank you for sharing the same love of spicy Mexican food with me. Thank you for always flying me to bed at night. Thank you for letting your little girl grow up and move away to college. Thank you for teaching me all the lessons I have learned in life. Most of all, thank you for being the best dad any little girl could ask for.

Being a daddy's girl has made me who I am today. I am able to be a girly girl but I also know how to ride motorcycles and understand the basics of cars because of my dad. He will always be my role model that I strive to be like every day. Thank you for being you, dad. Nothing can ever break the bond I have with my dad and I will forever be my daddy's little girl.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
