Anyone who works in retail gets to see the bad side of everyone. From yelling moms wanting a refund for a table their toddler broke (but swears they bought it like that), to sneaky teens trying to sneak jewelry in their purse, you have seen it all.
This is for the tired cashier who just wants to go home, the poor people stuck cleaning up fitting rooms, stockroom peeps, janitors, and anyone else who works in retail.
People are RUDE! Especially to customer service personnel.
WE ARE ALL PEOPLE!!
Next time you are in a store, and you get annoyed with a worker just remember that we are all people and no one is perfect, and they're just doing their job.
Here are some reminders us retail peeps want to remind everyone else for our sanity:
1. I am just the cashier, I have no control over the pricing of a product.
Please don't get mad at me I just scan the items and put them in bags... I don't price product... I'm just a cashier..... Quit.... Yelling..... At..... ME
2. I have my bags and I am walking out the door, so please don't ask me to help you find something for 20 minutes.
Y'all, it's just common courtesy to let the tired worker leave and GO HOME. There are plenty of other people that can help you.
3. "Can I speak to your manager?" People are the WORST.
Speaking to my manager won't change the fact that I cannot discount product only because you don't like the distressing on it. sorry.
4. You wore that, DO NOT TRY TO RETURN IT
You and I both know that you tucked the tags in that dress and wore it to your New Years Eve party. I can still smell the alcohol on it, Karen. No, I cannot take it back even though you have the receipt and tags... Let's call it "damage control".
5. Just because there is not a price tag on the product does not make it free.
Some tired soul who has been in the back since 6:30 missed putting the price tag on that candle because ya know they're hUmAn, so no that doesn't mean it's free. Also, that joke isn't funny and never was.
Next time you walk into a store give the cashier a big ole smile, and maybe thank them for acting like they're so interested in what you have to say. Customer Service people see the worst sides of everyone, so the people who are actually nice are appreciated and remembered.
Just be nice. Please. We just wanna go home
