Keke Palmer's Message For Natural Girls Who Are Told They Need Makeup

Keke Palmer had something to say to people who believe she needs to look glamorous all the time.

After posting pictures to social media without makeup, Palmer received harsh comments about her appearance. Quickly after she also posted a video that described an interaction with her friend who thought she should stick to wearing makeup.

According to Palmer, the friend said, “I hate it when you do you the no makeup, natural look because you don’t look polished."

Instead of listening to her friend’s suggestion Palmer had to voice her opinion.

“I’m not supposed to look polished that’s the problem,” Palmer continued in a video that reached over 4.5 million views on Facebook.

“That’s the problem, everybody’s trying to look polished 24/7 that sh*t is fake as f*ck.”

She pointed out that although she can admire diva personas embodied by celebrities like Dolly Parten, Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston, that’s not who she is.

“I’m definitely a diva but I’m a 2017 millennial diva,” Palmer explained.

The 23-year-old actress, singer, and dancer suffer from acne scars and hyperpigmentation but she refuses to be ashamed. To her, there’s no rush to fix natural occurrences to make other people comfortable.

She closed with the message, “It’s not a mistake to be in your natural state.”
