It’s October. You know what that means? PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING!!!
I have pumpkin spice air fresheners in my room and car, my lotion has been switched to pumpkin spice, and of course I drink Pumpkin Spice Lattes on the daily.
So, America, what’s up with the obsession? Why must we romanticize the giant orange vegetable? I mean it doesn’t really seem fair to the other veggies, yah know?
Here’s what I think: when I think of fall, I think of warm comfy sweaters with layers of cardigans and socks and boots; I think comfortable.
We spend 75 percent of our year melting in the hot Southern heat, and then we finally get a break (not that it last very long, but enjoy it).
I know you’re probably thinking, of course you love pumpkin spice everything, your wardrobe contains nothing but flannels, leggings, and Uggs. But on the real y’all, it’s like heaven.
There has been a lot of talk about how people are going too far with the flavoring of everything, and I mean literally everything.
But have y’all had the pumpkin spice Krispy Kreme donuts? Or the cream cheese?
By surrounding ourselves in this Pumpkin Spice Fantasy we are creating comfort and a pure, soulful bliss.
So next time you shame someone who orders a Pumpkin Spice Latte, don’t judge that “typical white girl." We’re all just trying to enjoy this best season that there is, Fall. (Although it’s really only like three weeks, for like five hours a day.)
Happy fall y’all! Go get a pumpkin spice latte and enjoy it in the aroma of your pumpkin scented room in the 65 degree weather.
