For the Love of Life

Do what you love and don't look back

For the Love of Life

I knew in my heart that I was made to do more than what I am doing. Each and every person has a passion for something, whether it be art, business, history, sports, psychology, traveling etc. I encourage every single person to follow that passion regardless of what pressures are holding you back. I haven’t always been encouraged to do what I love, and what I feel in my heart, but fighting for something that I truly know I want to do is something that I will never regret. I've changed my perspective of how I look at things, and it's much easier to live your life knowing what makes you happy.

I love sports and I have an extreme passion for it. It’s something that I’ve always invested myself in, and having that taken away from me was the hardest thing of my life. But...what I didn't realize was that there's so much more that I want to accomplish! I want to travel, I want to help people in a way no one else can, I want to live all over the world with nothing to worry about, how great does that sound? If there's one thing you want to do in this world, I encourage you to do it as soon as you can because you may wake up one day and realize that that time has passed and that opportunity is long gone. Go get that tattoo you've been wanting for a long time. Go to that dream destination that you've always wanted to travel to. Go tell the love of your life that you love them with every ounce of your body. Go build that DIY project you've been wanting to make. Go do whatever you've been wanting to do, just go do it.

I get it, there're pressures and certain things holding you back. What will other people think, maybe? Who cares. How will you afford it? Save up. Where will you stay? You'll figure it out. Will you go alone, or with your best friend? Why not take someone with to enjoy the ride with you. What about my job? There will always be more opportunities. What about my family? They will be waiting for you when you get back, or they will have to accept that you're your own individual person for wanting to do whatever it is. At the end of the day, the most important person is yourself and your own happiness. No one can live your life for you and no one can feel that happiness for you. Therefore, go do whatever you want with your time and don't worry about those certain things holding you back.

I just want to encourage you to do what you truly love, because if you aren't, then you are wasting your time. Just trust your gut. If your heart is telling you something, listen to it. The last thing you want is to regret the time that you didn't take advantage of. Therefore, do as much as you can with the time ahead of you. DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND DON’T LOOK BACK!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
