For The Girl That Doesn't Think She Is Good Enough

Just because this one didn't turn out as planned, doesn't mean the others will be the same.

I know what's running through your pretty little head right now. The thoughts saying that there's someone better, that if only had you done this or that. If only you had said something to make them change their mind, things would have ended differently. It's a road some of us are all too familiar with, and yes, I know it is not fun.

It's fun sitting there at 1:30 in the morning wide awake because your head won't let you rest. It only gives you more reasons to pick up the phone, but you never do. It's not fun sitting there wondering why and coming up with blank answers for yourself. It's not fun when all of a sudden all the things you could have said come flying into your head, and you wonder what would happen if you were to say them now. It most definitely is not fun when all the emotions you've held back finally come to the surface while your driving and hear a song that reminds you of everything that happened.

I've been there, I've had those late nights so don't think that I don't understand how much it hurts.

But, sweetie your better then this. I promise, what you're laying awake thinking about, won't matter in a year, or even a month. You know what does matter; you. You are one thousand times more important then whatever drama is happening in your life at the moment. Whether it's a fight with your boyfriend or a fight with your friends, please don't lose sleep trying to make it all better by the next day, because it won't be. It'll take time, like everything, to settle down. Nothing will change overnight, as hard as you make then try, it never will work.

You need to give yourself a break from what whatever is happening and focus on you. You are more then you think, no matter what anyone has told you. You are more then a pretty face and you need to be told that more often.

Just because this one didn't work out as you had planned it would, doesn't mean the rest will end the same. You will find where you are meant to belong and you'll know it as soon as you find it. Maybe you'll be in college and discover that you love being away from home and leaving is what you where meant to do. Or maybe you'll be on a trip with your friends celebrating someone's engagement and you'll happen to come across a town you've never heard of and fall in love with it. There's so many chances out there for you, don't let this one bad day or in some cases and bad week ruin it for you.

Because in the end, you'll look back on this and realize that when you were thinking your world was ending at two in the morning, it was really just beginning.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
