For all my four-legged puppy lovers.

Four legs, short and small or tall and large, it never fails to amaze me that dogs have the biggest heart out of every creature that I have met on this planet. Dogs are described as the most faithful companion and I could not agree more. If you grew up in a house with dogs, then you know exactly what I mean. Dogs are such blessings in each life, and better yet they can turn every bad day into a good day just by showing their goofy smiles.

They enjoy running around playing fetch for hours, they love puppy treats especially peanut butter, and they will stay 100% loyal to you until the end of time. Besides your family, your dog will be the one thing you can always count on. Eventually, the dog will become your family. You will feel a hole missing when they aren't by you. Each day is different, but I can always count on walking through the door and my dog being more excited to see me than anyone else. My 85-pound dog just about knocks me down every day after school and work but I would not have it any other way. There is not much on this planet that can always be as happy as a dog, and I feel so fortunate to be able to take care of such a loving animal.

Dogs are so special. Sensing when you are happy, sad, mad, or glad, dogs are there to give you a kiss and make your mind drift far away from every problem in the world. When I am stressed out and studying she will lay right beside me. When I don't give her enough attention she will attempt to get between me and my laptop. Yes, dogs love all the attention. Luckily for me, I couldn't love another animal more so every day with my four-legged bestie is just another blessing.

If you think you are "too busy" or "too stressed" or have an excuse for not getting a dog, I hope you find the time in your life to be able to raise your own dog. Every single person should do it at least once. A dog will be one of the most loving and rewarding gifts you can have.

The best part? Dogs are shown to take on their owner's personality. I agree with this completely. My dog and I could not be more alike and we spend each and every spare moment together. The bond you form with your dog will be something that will last a lifetime, even after they go to Doggy Heaven. However, I keep secretly praying that my own dog will stay with me until I die, then visit me in Heaven. Because in my world, I can not imagine a world without my crazy, goofy, and loving dog around me 24/7. She's a girly girl, full of personality, and the best cuddle partner in the world. I got a dog exactly when I needed it, and God knew exactly who I needed because He gave me the perfect dog for me. I am sure the same will stand for you too. Crazy how that works right?

But thank you, Jesus, because my life would be a lot more boring and a lot less complete without my dog. I would not laugh as much, spend as much time going on runs together, and I would definitely not have the most amazing cuddle buddy with me every night. That's right, she sleeps in bed and cuddles with me every single night. Does it get better? No no, it doesn't. So if you have a puppy, hug and cherish it today. You are blessed. If you do not, I encourage you to look and see all the different breeds and personalities. I promise there is a dog out there for everyone, and this dog is mine. My dog holds half my heart for the rest of my life. They deserve many more days of celebration, but trust me I think unlimited dog treats will do the trick for my girl, and probably your's too.

So for my four-legged bestie, your dogs, your future dogs, and dogs all across the country... we celebrate you. Thank you for endless love and puppy kisses. We truly appreciate you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
