For the struggling college student, motivation in any form is greatly accepted. For the most part. With the spring semester slump in full effect, all we have to look forward to is spring break (and the end of the year, of course). Even when we feel defeated, it seems as though the only advice we seem to receive is, "Don't give up."
As if that isn't the "duh" of the century. Of course, we're not going to give up (even though it feels like we come pretty close sometimes). Contrary to what most people think, that standard reply does nothing for us. We need some words of encouragement with a little oomph behind them. Tell us something we actually want to hear instead of the blasé "Don't give up."
So for the struggling college student on the brink of defeat, here is a list of quotes that keep me on the up and up.
"You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it." —Becky G
"Life is short. Don't be lazy." —Anonymous
"It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." —Babe Ruth
"Stop getting distracted by things that have nothing to do with your goals." —Anonymous
"May the space between where I am and where I want to be motivate me." —Tracee Ellis Ross
"Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of the victory." —George S. Patton
"What you do today can improve all your tomorrows." —Ralph Marston
"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." —Mark Twain
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." —Thomas A. Edison
"The best way to predict the future is to create it." —Peter Drucker
