"For Once In My Life"

When we are ready.

For once in my life I have someone who needs me
Someone I've needed so long
For once, unafraid, I can go where life leads me
And somehow I know I'll be strong

For once I can touch what my heart used to dream of
Long before I knew
Someone warm like you
Would make my dreams come true

For once in my life I won't let sorrow hurt me
Not like it's hurt me before
For once, I have something I know won't desert me
I'm not alone anymore

For once, I can say, this is mine, you can't take it
As long as I know I have love, I can make it
For once in my life, I have someone who needs me - Stevie Wonder

Those words are from a popular song by Stevie Wonder talking about finding that true love and feeling satisfied with the person you found is the person for you and you for them. I look forward to that day that I will place a ring on that pretty finger of my beautiful bride and to walk to the reception and sing this song to this beautiful heaven-sent blessing. How my family and closest family will have a new daughter to introduce to the family. Their Patrick with his special someone. Someone to come home to, to argue with and make up with food and special surprises. To have someone to vent to and pick on only to laugh until you cry again

My dad and I were sitting in the living room discussing the future and relationships and he said "Son, whatever you do in life be intentional. If you do not plan to make whoever your pursuing a permanent thing do not invest or pursue it. In all aspects" Those words ringed into me. I want to have something that comes to me to be positive and long-term. The way you can make the outcome be the outcome you strive for you need to project your mindset into the one you want for yourself. Do not go looking for what you think you need for what you need will find you when its ready to be found or when God allows you to find it.

We live for now and we as a generation have the shortest patience span. Living for cheap thrills and quick satisfactions. Instead of working and fighting and taking time to make something that will last longer and has more to offer. When you get that attitude and set that as the goal and nothing short of that you will begin to find what you looking for, But if you are there and you still have not found your other do not fret. Your partner may not be there yet, instead pray and keep your eyes on Jesus and when both you and your future partner are ready you will be put in each others' lives.

Enjoy the journey and do not worry about the destination. You will get there when you need to, not when you want too.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
