I feel so lucky to have you.

Dear Best Friend,

Here's the deal: You are amazing.

Never in my life have I ever had anyone be there for me as unconditionally as you.

We have so many memories-- from camping to getting our first tattoos together, we've done it all. You seem to bring out the best in me and for that I am thankful.

You have been there for me through illnesses, deaths, heartbreak, losses, bad grades, and everything in between. You have supported (though probably made fun of) every single one of my decisions. You have been the first person I turn to for as long as I can remember.

You make me brave. I am fearless because of you.

You have been right next to me through all of my "stages." From "goth" to "preppy," you have been there. Your undying devotion and support and love have gotten me through some of my worst times.

I don't wonder what I will do next, who I will talk to, or where I will go when things go wrong because I know I have you. I am not afraid of what will happen in the future.

I am not ashamed of what has happened in the past, because you have taught me to forgive myself. You have taught me, in your own special way, how to love myself.

I know you don't think you effect me this much...but you do. You have changed my entire way of thinking and you have made me a better person.

I can only hope to one day be the type of person that you are. I think that if I can be anything like you, I will have done something right.

You're amazing, inspiring, and I feel so blessed to be able to call you my forever friend.

Love always,

Me

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
