Being a part of a sorority involves a lot of different things. Like socials, chapter meetings, philanthropies and, most importantly, date parties. While we all complain and say that date parties are our least favorite part about being in a sorority, because we are always on the hunt for a date, they are secretly our favorite part. Who doesn’t love getting dressed up for semi formal, or painting jugs for hayride? But, before we get to all the fun we have to find a date, and here are a few great ways to find that perfect date you have been looking for since before you were even initiated.
Class
Finding a special someone for your next date function in a class is a great idea for many reasons. First of all, you have been looking for a good way to ask that cute guy you study with to hang out in a non-school related setting, and this is a great way! Also, if he is not in a fraternity, it could be even more fun since he probably has never been to anything like a sorority date party before, because honestly, there is no other experience like it.
Socials
At a social there are so many cute boys walking around who are just waiting to be asked to your hayride or semi formal. You know how all girls love being asked to fraternity date parties? Yeah, boys get just as excited, and any of them would love to be your date! Just make sure you actually know their first, and probably, last name before you spring the big question on them. Also, remember that you have to spend a whole night with this guy, so make sure he’s at least kind of cool.
Friend of a friend
This has been one way that seems to work out pretty well for all people involved. For me, I do not have many high school friends here, but a lot of my other friends do. So to make it more fun for everyone, we bring a few guys that are friends and we go with them! It is a lot of fun to have one big friend group so everyone can all hang out during the event, as opposed to having a random date that you have to keep entertained the entire night.
That guy you’re talking to
I think this one is obvious, but sometimes we all get a little nervous and don’t want to ask him, but the point is that you should. If you are talking pretty consistently and hanging out, you ask him. It is protocol. I do not make the rules, I just enforce them.
Your best friend
Sometimes, it is just not a good time in your life to be asking some random boy to a date party, or sometimes the guy you want to take isn’t available, or sometimes you just cannot imagine having more fun at a date party with a boy than you would with your best friend. Sure, you may look a little lame, but whatever! In the end you will be so happy you caused a whole ton of trouble with your best friend, than if you brought some cute guy that you do not even want to talk to the next day. Best friend>men, because your friendship is true love. <3
