7 Snacks We LIVED On As Kids That Our Adult Bodies Just Can't Stomach Anymore

In This Article:

Growing up stinks. Adulting has led me to discover the hard truth: that rainbow-colored fruit snacks aren't what an adult body needs to be fueled with. Although this is true, I will still sit here and reminisce of the good old days when my lunches were filled with foods that could double as temporary tattoos.

1. Fruit Roll-Ups

Honestly, if you did not have a tattoo on your tongue after lunch you were doing it wrong.

2. Smucker's Uncrustables Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches

Pre-made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches without the crust, what more could a 9-year-old want? Perfectly peanut buttered on the outside with jelly on the inside. It was like heaven in bread.

3. Go-Gurt

Am I the only one who threw these in the freezer to turn them into delicious frozen yogurt desserts? A frozen Go-Gurt was THE BEST WAY to start and end the perfect summer day.

4. Kid Cuisine

Hands down the best meals ever. It had corn in it, so it must be healthy, right?

5. Pringles

Courtesy of Target

Pringles were the most addicting snacks, and I could easily eat an entire container in one sitting. The convenience of having a can of Pringles and not worrying about squishing them in your backpack made life so much easier.

6. Pop-Tarts

Courtesy of Target

My Pop-Tarts obsession was far from healthy. There was no bad flavor, and they made the most delicious breakfast meal to start your day with.

7. Fruit Gushers

Courtesy of Target

Gushers were basically like candy, but you got to include them in your lunch as a food group. Nothing was better than opening up a pack of Gushers and discovering that it was mainly filled with reds and blues.

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
