Greenville is a bustling little town in the upstate of South Carolina. It is a city that is growing by the year with new restaurants and developments popping up everywhere. It is for sure the must stop town of any foodie.

Over the past year while I have been in Greenville I have made it my prerogative to find the best brunch, lunch, dinner and desserts spots around town. Although you can pretty much never go wrong with ANY restaurant here in Greenville, I decided to share with you all my local favorites! Below you will find the ultimate foodie guide for anything and everything related to food in Greenville.

Breakfast/ Brunch

As everyone says, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I am not an early riser so brunch is my new go-to instead. Same food, just a little later in the day!

Here are my go to:

Tupelo Honey Cafe - Being a northern girl this was my first introduction to southern soul food. It is AMAZING! Their menu has everything from fried chicken to a sweet potato waffle, you honestly can't go wrong!

Biscuit Head- This is a newer restaurant to Greenville but is definitely a must! They have somehow come up with the best menu ever involving everyones favorite carb - biscuits. I don't know how they did it but EVERYTHING is on a biscuit and is absolutely delectable.

Tandem- While this restaurant is located in an adjacent town to Greenville, in Travelers Rest it is must go! Their menu is full of crepes with a modern flair! Oh and don't let me forget their lattes!

Eggs Up Grill- This restaurant is my go to for a quick and easy brunch. They have your all of your brunch favorites on their menu. Whether you are craving pancakes or a bacon, egg, and cheese. You name it they have it.

Lunch

Okay, so being a college student I admit that I do eat in the dinning hall a lot! But whenever I get tired of the campus food, I'm out the door and on my way down town!

Best lunch spots:

Up Country Provisions- This hidden gem of Travelers Rest is an absolute must. It's a simple menu full of incredible creations. LOL I'm not kidding. All of the items on the menu are named after things around travelers rest and Greenville! My favorites is the bell tower named after Furman's famous landmark.

Brick Street Cafe- When you go to Brick Street you have to have the Sweet Potato cake! It is my favorite cake in the whole wide world. Brick Street is a fun restaurant full of good southern home cooking! Its a great place to go for a ladies lunch or just for fun. Its one of those feel good places.

Caviar and Bananas- This is a new addition to Greenville! Imagine a cute cafe mixed with your favorite gourmet grocery store. Its has absolutely everything you can imagine your little foodie dreams.

Dinner

In Greenville there are so many options to eat out for dinner. You can honestly not eat at a bad restaurant. These are my favorite restaurants that my friends and I love to go to! (keep in mind we are college students)

Dinning out for dinner:

Pomegranate on Main- This is my all time favorite restaurant in Greenville! I could eat their pita chips and hummus every day for as long as I live! Pomegranate has a Mediterranean flair so there menu is definitely not one you would find anywhere else!

Tako-Sushi - This restaurants is perfect for those who can never make up their mind if they want Mexican or sushi! It is a very popular destination in Greenville so make sure you call to make a reservation.

Local Taco - My Friends and I discovered this restaurant last semester and we are obsessed! There food is fresh and oh so yummy.

Sidewall Pizza - Ok this is honestly one of the best pizzas I have ever had. It is definitely not your normal pizza place, there pizzas are artisanal. Sidewall was originally only located in Travelers Rest but they just opened a location in down town Greenville.

I hope these restaurant recommendations help you discover your inner Foodie. Just remember when in Greenville you can't go wrong with any restaurant! Have fun exploring my little food hub!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
