As much as I'd like to pride myself on the meals I make daily, I have to give all the credit to my favorite Instagram foodies. They go far beyond grilled chicken into the world of exotic flavors and life-changing recipes. My Instagram has become more a place of endless inspiration and less of half naked beach pictures (San Diego Probs). To be honest, with my entire feed consisting of immaculate toasts and cozy oatmeals healthy eating has just become that much easier.

Here are just a few of my absolute favorite, go-to, foodie gurus that you need to check out too.

Rachael's Good Eats (Rachael DeVaux)

Talk about the queen of food Instagrams. Rachael's recipes inspire me to try something new almost on a daily basis and I have the biggest girl crush on her. Similar to most clean eaters, she doesn't eat dairy products which saves me and my lactose intolerant self. On top of her kick-ass savory dishes, she also kills it in the sweets department. It's safe to say her Cashew Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet is the hottest thing on Instagram right now. Located in the caption of all her pictures, she posts the recipe with how-to steps to make it! Ugh, she's the best, right?

Rachel Mansfield

Girl crush #2. Rachel Mansfield and Rachael DeVuax go hand in hand as my favorite people to follow on Instagram. Rachel Mansfield takes home the award for making any unhealthy dish you crave into a healthier, and better tasting one. Seems too good to be true? Well, it gets better. Her recipes are all super simple. From cookies to cupcakes to brownies all the way to Thai food, she is your girl. Her blog alongside her Instagram is so put together there's no way you're gonna resist whipping up one of her genius goodies. When I say her blog has EVERYTHING, I'm not kidding.

Savoring The Flavoring (Katy Allan)

Too often I hear the excuse that eating healthy takes "too much time" or "too much work." That's just stupid. What? Someone had to say it. Half of my inspo for my meals comes from hard workin' mamas that have every excuse in the book to eat junk food. But this mama? Yeah right, Katy is about the baddest mama out there. Her recipes literally make me drool like she's ridiculously creative. The best part of her insta: her daily stories. Rather she's whippin up dope in the crockpot or fighting off her three sons she'll get a laugh out of you no doubt.

Nourished By Kale (Tiffany Acevedo)

Probably the cutest/sweetest human alive and I haven't even met her. This San Diego beauty will have you makin' matcha lattes and avo toast for days. If you're a fan of perfect sunny side up eggs over just about anything you eat, this is your girl. Not to mention, her toast creations are out of this world. Also - if you're finding it ironic that her last name almost looks like 'avocado' it just gives us more of a reason to trust her credibility in the 'cado department. Eating just got that much more fun.

Blog: no blog, but her email is available in her bio.

Shut The Kale Up (Jeanette Ogden)

I can't get enough of this mama's Instagram as is, but the relationship she has with her son makes me love it even more (cutest kid ever). From her creative smoothie recipes to her breakfast tacos, this beauty knows the way to a happy belly! Her good vibes make her recipes taste even better. She'll remind you why eating clean goes far beyond your physical health, challenging you to be your best self!

Danielle's Kitchen (Danielle Clark)

This San Diego based babe is the queen when it comes to perfect oatmeal and savory bowls! Seriously, she knows how to take every little ingredient and turn it into something you'll crave more than any slice of pizza. Danielle is vegan, so all of her dishes are completely plant based and they definitely don't lack deliciousness. This girl is proof that a plant based diet is the way to go!

The Big Mans World (Arman)

One of my newer & favorite Instagram finds! (Pro-Tip: the more foodies you follow, the more will pop up on your explore page which = endless deliciousness.) Arman's recipes make eating healthy seem like the easiest thing to do in the world. He has 2-ingredient healthy brownies and protein-packed cinnamon roll pancakes... like how is that even real? His Insta page will for sure leave you starving, but the simplicity of his recipes makes it all worth while.

Kiss My Wheat Grass (Kendall)

Holy guacamole. This babe crushes the Insta game and she's a college student. She puts any boring toast options to shame and puts pasta right back into the healthy slot. Her array of colorful pictures remind you that carbs are a girl's best friend and food is the most important thing like ever...

Blog: No blog, but she does post recipes in the caption for her eats!

** These are seriously just a few of the amazing foodies I follow! If I made a list of everyone I liked it would never end. I picked some of my personal favorites and ones that are different from one another.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
