Self-Actualization is when you realize your own worth. You start to achieve the desired realization of your own talents and what you’re capable of.

Step One: Accept Yourself For Who You Are

Once you begin to accept all your flaws and understand the fact that no one is perfect, not even yourself, is truly the first step in becoming a self-actualized individual.

Step Two: Enjoy the Ride

Instead of focusing on the start or the finish line, enjoy the time in between. Our experiences and choices we make forms our personalities and makes us who we are as people.

Step Three: Focus on Personal Growth

When you focus on yourself, it enhances the quality of your life. It’s best to not expect that you’ll be anywhere in life other than where you are. Accept where you are in your life and that’s the beginning of your personal growth.

Step Four: Become Grateful of What You Have

Never take anything for granted. Even if you believe it was a loss, always have the, “Everything happens for a reason” type of attitude and be grateful of the blessings you were given.

Step Five: Resist Enculturation

Don’t allow yourself to be molded by society. Make your own decisions, understand what is good and bad in your own eyes. Learn to not accept everything but not rejecting everything either.

I ask for the bathroom and a friend of my tinder date shows me to it and said in all seriousness that I was not allowed to flush the toilet under ANY circumstances. Having a few drinks--or five--I relieved myself to, nevertheless, flush the toilet. Within seconds, his bathroom was flooded and towels were laid out everywhere to catch the toilet water. To say the least, we were not invited back"
