Some (like me) absolutely love him. A lot of people think he's creepy. His googly eyes freak a lot of people out.

Gritty was made primarily to appeal to children. It's no wonder he freaked out a lot of adults. After a while, a lot of people realized that Gritty has a persona that they could love.
He's relatable. He's awkward. He's amazing.
Gritty even danced with The Phillie Phanatic. Come on, this is so cute. You can't deny it.
The fact that no one really knows what he is or who the heck came up with the idea to create a monster named Gritty adds to his character.

What about Gritty? Now we have a mascot who embodies us. He's awkward yet fierce and a bit kooky.
Together, the Phillie Phanatic and Gritty will represent the spirit of Philadelphia sports fans. Maybe they'll be the dynamic duo soon. I can't wait to see the bond that they'll have.
