Flu Flu Go Away!

I got the flu last week and it was awful. Here is my rant about it.

Dear Flu,

I really hope you had your fun this week with me. I totally enjoyed the flu coma that stuck me in two days of endless sleep and not really resting. (Hint my sarcasm!) I started feeling like I had a cold a week ago, so I took some cold medicine. Well I got better briefly, for maybe a day, then I started feeling worse last Sunday. Then Monday and Tuesday, I was dying.

Warning, this is about to get really gross and I'm sorry about that. I literally blew my nose so much that I think I blew out my weight in snot probably three or four times. And the thought of that makes my own stomach churn. I was coughing almost every other breath at one point. And when my only source of breathing (YOUR MOUTH) was having little spasms like coughing, well breathing was hard for me.

I worked Monday and Tuesday. I ended up leaving early Tuesday because I felt like I had a fever and couldn't deal with it anymore. I nearly cried three times at the register. Especially when a customer backed away from me like I was plague LITERALLY! I went to the doctors right after work so I could get some medicine that could help me since everything that I was already taking wasn't working.

And the doctor confirmed it. I had the flu. Ugh, I was and still am mad. I was ordered to stay out of work, and seclude myself from society for a few days. Plus I got a steroid shot in the arm to help me get better faster (IT IS LIES I TELL YOU!). As to how I felt, my bed sounded like heaven. I went to the CVS pharmacy to wait for my ride home (remember I don't drive) and to get my antibiotics.

Once I got home, I ate some food before going into my room and basically hibernating there for the next three days. I literally sleep for two of those three days. Nonstop sleeping. I only woke to eat once each of those days, to take my medicine and to go to the bathroom. Other than that, I was a bear, a rather sick bear in hibernation.

Friday, I woke up feeling slightly better. Yet I was still feeling weak. I will tell you that I couldn't go back to sleep for nothing. It was like someone turned the on switch on me and duct taped it. I literally stayed awake all day. And no, it was not a good thing. I didn't go to sleep until 1 am that night.

I could have went to work the next day if my body wasn't still weak and aching. I am now writing this letter to my flu while still not feeling fully one hundred percent better. I plan to go to work tomorrow which is Sunday. And let me tell you that this girl is going to try her best and work through this feeling tomorrow.

Flu Flu Go Away, I never wanna see you another day.

Love,

Sick Girl

P.S. Thank you to all my friends that checked up on me! I appreciate it.

P.S.S. Anyone who reads this ranting letter, let it be known that it is a good thing to go get your flu shot if you can. I would never wish this on my own enemy. It was a horrible week.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
