Flowers are something spectacular that God has created. There are all types of flowers, from roses to lilies to daffodils to carnations and so forth. All flowers are beautiful as each one is made unique, attracting the human eye. Flowers are typically popular in the summertime, as many people enjoy gardening. Flowers are also popular in blooming in the springtime or early fall. Gardening can either be with flowers or vegetables. Today, I'm going to tell you about my favorite eleven flowers, ranked in order from my most favorite to my last along with a fact about each one.
1. Pink Roses.
About 60% of the roses grown in the U.S. are produced in California.
2. Lilies.
Each color of the lily has certain meaning. White lily symbolizes purity, day lily coquetry, while tiger lily symbolizes majesty and wealth.3. Daffodils.
Scientists have discovered narciclasine, a natural compound found in daffodil bulbs, may be therapeutic in treating brain cancer.
4. Sunflowers.
Sunflowers are a great choice to plant if you want to to attract birds to your yard.
5. Sweet Pea.
Seeds of the sweet pea are poisonous. If ingested, a disease called odoratism can develop. The symptoms mimic those of scurvy.
6. Tulips.
The tulip is the national flower or Turkey and Afghanistan.
7. Orchids.
Orchids have a symmetry to human faces.
8. Calla Lilies.
The Calla lily roots are poisonous.
9. Cherry Blossoms.
Cherry Blossoms are Japan's national flower.
10. Gerberas.
The capitulum on the Gerberas has the appearance of a single flower, but is actually a cluster of hundreds of individual flowers.
11. Bird of Paradise.
Healthy, mature plants produce up to 36 flower spikes in a year. Plants in partially shady locations will produce larger blossoms than ones located in full sun.
